How we as a GP surgery can support you…

  • Provide general and specific care: Your GP will offer you the same holistic care as they would for any other patient and are key in managing care in relation to your gender identity.
  • Refer you to specialist services: Your GP can refer you to NHS gender identity clinics for specialised assessment and treatment, such as hormones or support for surgery.
  • Help coordinate your care: Your GP can collaborate with specialists at gender identity clinics to manage treatment after you have been discharged from specialist care
  • Help with other health needs: Guidance on specific health needs related to gender dysmorphia
  • Updates of records: We can update your name and gender on your medical records, this may involve creating a new record
